About The Floods In Nepal
Nepal is facing a catastrophic flash flood disaster that began on August 26. The disaster appears to have started high in the Himalayas in Tibet, when a large section of glacier/ice and rock collapsed. The debris fell into a mountain river, temporarily blocking it and creating a natural dam. When that blockage failed, a huge surge of water, ice, mud, and boulders rushed downstream into Nepal.
How Our Ministry Partners Are Responding
Our ministry leaders are safe, but they are still waiting to hear from some of their workers in the affected areas. Many telephone towers and roads are destroyed, so communication is difficult. We will do our best to keep you informed as we learn more.
